beneficiaries

The Siaya County, distribution was done in two sub counties with 5 wards that are Bondo sub county and Rarieda sub county. Within these sub counties we reached Yimbo East, Yimbo West, West Sakwa, North Sakwa and West Asembo. The number of households met so far included young women, old women, adolescent girls and children. We are pleased to have been able to reach a total number of 85 and 125 households in the first and second distributions respectively.

During the distribution, sensitizations were held on the importance of addressing HIV/AIDS issues. the beneficiaries  were informed that this increases awareness of safe practices to prevent HIV infections and this is as a result that people must be more careful in order to reduce the infection rate. It was explained to them that HIV/AID awareness programmes help people be aware of the level of care and treatment whether living with HIV or caring for someone with the disease

Elderly beneficiary receiving her food basket at the Kenya Female Advocacy Organization (KAFEDO) Offices
A lady of 30 yrs. old had defaulted because she was sent away by her former employer. She was assisted by well-wishers to get home since she was already sick. Upon getting home, her mother could not afford her treatment since she makes sisal ropes and sells them only on market days to put food on the table. During the home visit, she was found very sick, with no money to take her to a facility and food. She was facilitated to visit the facility of her choice by Kenya Female Advocacy Organization (KEFADO) to a facility of her choice since she had initially visited the nearest facility but the attendant was really rude. She was then put on treatment and received her food basket.
